How to Organise Your Essential Oils! - Inspire Me Naturally

If you’re a dedicated essential oil lover like us, you’ll understand just how tricky it can be to keep all of your favourite oils organised!

As your essential oil collection begins to grow, it can be harder to find the right oils when you need them. So, with this in mind, what’s the best way to keep your essential oils organised?

Keep reading as we share our guide on how to organise your essential oils (both at home and on the go), and the accessories you’ll need to get started!

Essential oil organisation tip: Use a storage box

Storage boxes are our number one tip for keeping your essential oil collection organised. Essential oil storage boxes are designed with multiple slots and compartments, allowing you to easily store your oils without having to worry about mess or spillage.

Depending on how many essential oils you have in your collection, storage boxes are available in a range of different sizes to suit your needs. Some storage boxes also contain handy compartments for things like carrier oils, too.

Essential oil organisation tip: Try cap stickers

If you love creating your own custom essential oil blends, cap stickers are an ideal solution. By using cap stickers, you can easily see your favourite essential oils at a quick glance (and won’t have to worry about accidentally confusing your oils!). Essential oil organisation tip: Sort by usage

Another great way to organise your essential oils is to sort them by frequency of use. Keep your favourite essential oils - the ones you use daily - together in an easily accessible place, while the oils you use less frequently can be stored further away.

Essential oil organisation tip: Sort by properties

Alternatively, you might want to organise your essential oils by their properties instead. For example, your calming and relaxing oils like lavender, ylang-ylang and bergamot can be stored in a group, while your antibacterial oils like tea tree, lemon and orange can be kept close together.

Other categories to consider might be household cleaning, focus and concentration, or even just beautiful fragrances for the home. Grouping your essential oils by their properties will allow you to easily create blends when you need them, depending on your requirements at the time.

Essential oil organisation tip: Make a travel kit

Creating a small travel kit can be handy for those times when you might want to use your essential oils on the go. Use a smaller storage box (or a secure bag) to store your favourite everyday oils so you can enjoy them anywhere, at any time!
